SIBO

SIBO stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and it occurs when there are bacteria and/or fungal infection in the small intestine where normally bacteria are not found.

SIBO stands for Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth and occurs when there is an abnormal increase in the overall bacterial population in the small intestine — particularly types of bacteria not commonly found in that part of the digestive tract.

There are different types of SIBO that are categorized by three different gases; hydrogen, methane, and hydrogen sulfide.
